Multi-Axial Systems

Multi-Axial Testing Systems have the capability to apply combined force and displacements in more than one axis.  This includes:

  • Axial-torsion systems which feature a combined axial-torsion actuator for performing through-zero tension-torsion or compression-torsion fatigue tests.
  • Planar bi-axial cruciform systems that can be configured for performing static and dynamic fatigue and fracture tests on advanced materials and components.

All of the systems utilize frames with high rigidity to give better dynamic performance, advanced features of the 8800 digital controller, advanced load cell technologies, and when combined with WaveMatrix™ dynamic testing software, offer unparalleled testing flexibility.

ElectroPuls™ systems use patented linear motor technology. Running from only a single-phase electrical connection to the wall, this ElectroPuls test instrument features a combined linear-torsion motor in the upper crosshead for performing bi-axial tests on materials and components.

The 8874 tabletop servohydraulic test system is ideal for perfoming bi-axial tests on materials and components. The combined axial-torsion actuator is in the upper crosshead and leaves the lower t-slot table free for mounting of specimens, grips, or complex fixtures.
